Hi,

update:
Weather: perfect, not too hot, not too cold, not windy and not raining, just perfect!!!

Accommodation: Wow! Quite some place considering the local amenities are not excellent. English toilets, which made us all smile. Showers, with hot water, beds with mosquito nets.

Food: This lady who is our cook has the x factor touch, she makes the best food. The centre in which we are volunteering has really made an effort to accommodate us, we have over 10 dishes to choose from at lunch and dinner time. Definitely cannot complain. Although we all felt rather guilty, they insist on being as hospitable as possible.

We are having an absolutely amazing time, this really is one hell of an experience. I cannot begin to imagine the impact it has had on students, as I truly have learnt and experienced so much in such a short space of time.

We spent some time in the Orphanage for young children with HIV and Aids, we made lots of friends with all the children, had a nice sing along and dance. We are teaching all day tomorrow, their idea of a small class to make it easy for us is 50. Our resources; a room with no windows, a chalk and a blackboard.

Thursday and Friday will be spent camping near the source of the nile, after that we have presentations, classes, playgrounds to build and start a veg garden until the end of our stay. p.s. the picture attached is a snapshot of our garden party with the children at the orphanage (can be viewed by going to Pictures).

Keep an eye out for the blog.

Kindest Regards

An extremely humbled Sufian
