Important announcement: Tragic incident involving a first year student

We are deeply saddened by the tragic incident that occurred on Friday night (29th September) in Luton, where a 16-year-old student from Luton Sixth Form College was fatally stabbed. Our hearts go out to the young man whose life has been so tragically taken, his family and the entire Luton community during this difficult time.

This senseless act of violence has shaken us all, reminding us of the importance of coming together as a community to support one another. We extend our condolences to the student's family and friends and we wish them strength and solace as they navigate this unimaginable loss.

At Luton Sixth Form College, we believe in the power of education to transform lives and it is heart breaking to see a young life cut short in such a tragic manner. We stand with the entire community in condemning violence and promoting a culture of peace and unity.

In the days ahead, we hope to see justice served and we call upon the authorities to investigate this incident thoroughly and swiftly. We also encourage anyone with information to come forward to aid in the investigation.

Moreover, we want to assure the college community that we are committed to providing support during this difficult time. Our counselling and mental health services will be available to help those who may be affected by this incident. We understand that the emotional toll of such events can be profound and we want to offer a safe space for our students and staff to share their feelings and seek guidance.

Additionally, we will be working closely with the appropriate agencies to implement measures that enhance the safety and well-being of our students and staff. We believe that everyone has the right to feel secure in their environment and we are dedicated to fostering an atmosphere of security and support.

In times like these, it is crucial that we rally around one another, providing support, love and comfort to those who need it most. Let us remember the life that has been lost, a bright young individual with dreams and potential- let his memory inspire us to work tirelessly towards a safer, more compassionate community.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the students’ family and friends and the entire Luton community during this painful time.
